After that, I begin looking for keywords. Using the same example as before, I began my search with the keyword "how to lose pounds." I'm seeking for low-competition, long-tail keyword suggestions with some monthly searches in particular.
Of course, the higher the number of monthly searches for a phrase, the better; however, keep in mind that what is provided there is merely an indicator, and I have seen keywords deliver far more traffic than the estimate offered here on several occasions.
Also, the lower the numbers, the more likely the estimations are to be wrong.
Returning to our example, there are several low competition keyword possibilities that can meet my criteria, as mentioned in the example above, for the phrase I've picked.
I looked into the other phrases as well, but without wasting too much time, I opted on "how to lose 15 pounds" as a keyword with low competition and a large number of worldwide monthly searches that suits my topic's subject and purpose.
